When insulating your home or office, you can choose from many types of insulation supplies. To choose the best type, you should first determine the following:
- Where you want or need to install/add.
- The recommended R-values for areas.
- Understanding different materials
- fiber glass insulation, mineral wool insulation, and others. These options have different qualities and attributes that may inform your choice of materials.
- Fiber glass insulation: Made from glass cullet and other raw materials which are melted and spun into fibers that resemble the texture of wool. Fiber glass comes in batts, rolls or loose-fill forms and is commonly used throughout a house in sidewalls, attics, floors, crawl spaces, cathedral ceilings, and basements.
- Mineral wool insulation: Made from rock, blast furnace slag, and other raw materials which are melted and spun into fibers to resemble the texture of wool. Mineral wool comes in batts, rolls or loose-fill forms. Like fiber glass, it is also used throughout a house in sidewalls, attics, floors, crawl spaces, cathedral ceilings, and basements.
- Glasswool: A range of commercial & industrial batts & blankets. Energylite is manufactured from non-combustile Glasswool bonded with an inert thermosetting resin to form a strong resilent product. Available in batts and blankets.
