Energy Efficiency

Buildings account for 40% of energy consumption in most countries, yet their potential to save on energy is huge.

By using adapted insulation and energy savings techniques, up to 80% of a building’s energy consumption for heating or cooling can be saved.

National Building Regulations and the Building Code SANS 10400-XA

The Regulator (NRCS) has published legislation regarding energy efficiency in new buildings and renovations (NBR-XA). This means that insulation will have to be installed to achieve the stipulated R-values.It has been updated to include Part X, which addresses environmental sustainability, and part XA, which establishes requirements for energy efficiency in new buildings and renovations (which require plans). These requirements came into effect from the 10th November 2011. Important

The energy efficiency Standard for new buildings and renovations SANS 10400-XA has been implemented and all new buildings must to comply with the performance parameters.

SANS 204 was published as a voluntary National Standard for “Energy Efficiency in Buildings” in October 2008 and updated in August 2010. It contains requirements that are higher than SANS 10400-XA and defines the minimum requirements that must be adhered to, to achieve a Green Building rating

Isover`s insulation solutions help to reduce energy consumption in buildings saving fossil fuels while assists in reducing global warming, acid rain and smog
